Hospice Suites

One of the most difficult decisions in life is deciding how to care for a loved one who is terminally ill and no longer able to stay at home. Hospice provides comfort and dignity for persons with a terminal illness. In addition to improving quality of life for the patient, hospice also gives peace of mind to family members and loved ones through this difficult time.

South Shore Care Center offers private hospice suites. These suites are spacious, professionally decorated and equipped with amenities such as comfortable seating, kitchenettes, TV and private bathrooms to allow families to stay with their loved ones. Hospice patients are cared for in a peaceful, private atmosphere by staff specially trained in the philosophy of hospice.

There are several hospice agencies that provide hospice services to nursing homes. Local hospice agencies include Compassionate Care Hospice and Sanford Hospice.

Recognizing that often caregivers just need a break, these rooms are also available for respite care. This means that a hospice patient, who is usually cared for at home by a family member, can stay in one of our hospice rooms for a short period of time if the usual caregiver needs to be away.
