Pharmacy Services

    Crossroads Care Center and South Shore Care Centers use a unit dose system of medication administration.  This system provides a safe, effective and economical method for medication distribution and reduces the margin for error in medication administration.  Unused medications are be returned to the pharmacy for credit, which makes the system more cost effective for our residents.

    Omnicare of South Dakota, a pharmacy specializing in geriatrics, provides most of our medications.  To assure that all residents have the safest and most effective medication management, each resident’s medication profile is reviewed monthly by our Pharmacy Consultant who is a Registered Pharmacist with special training in gerontology. The Pharmacy Consultant works closely with each resident’s physician and our licensed nursing staff.
