Financial Information
Crossroads Care Center and
South Shore Care Center are both fully Medicare certified.
Many new residents are admitted directly from the hospital and
most qualify for Medicare Part A benefits, providing they meet
coverage requirements.
Most residents pay for
their care through private resources or Medical Assistance
(Medicaid). Medical Assistance is a state-federal program
which supplements a resident’s resources and is available to
individuals who meet state requirements. The level of care
required by the resident’s medical condition and the resident’s
financial need determine eligibility for most funding programs.
Private insurance is
another method of payment for long term care services.
Crossroads Care Center and South Shore Care Center staff are
available to assist our residents in using their insurance
benefits and coordinating all sources of payment.
Crossroads Care Center and
South Shore Care Center charge a daily rate for care based on an
initial assessment that determines the level of care needed.
Assessments are repeated at periodic intervals, usually every
three months, and rates are adjusted when a resident’s level of
care changes. Our rates include 24 hour nursing care, meals
based on individual dietary requirements, housekeeping, personal
laundry and linen, a daily program of activities, social
services and administration. Our daily rates do not
include medication, special therapies, physician or other
medical services.
Both semi-private (double
occupancy) and private (single occupancy) rooms are available.
There is an additional charge for a private room.
Residents have the right
to manage their personal finances or may choose someone who will
be accountable for financial matters. A trust fund is
available for residents who chose to have the care center
keep track of their personal funds.
Our Social Services
Directors are available to assist residents and their families
with any questions regarding financial matters.
