Dietary Services

    We have a Registered Dietitian at South Shore Care Center and a Certified Dietary Manager at Crossroads Care Center who works in consultation with the Registered Dietitian to plan and provide for the various dietary needs of our residents.  Specially modified and therapeutic diets are provided upon written orders from the physician.  Food is prepared and served using methods which enhance the flavor, appearance and nutritional value.

    Mealtimes are important to our residents.  We provide selective menus so that residents can chose what they want to eat at each meal. 

    All of our staff is aware that mealtime is an important opportunity to satisfy the social and emotional needs of our residents.  All residents are encouraged to eat in the main dining room but we offer room service as well.  A Rehabilitation Dining Program is available to residents who require special assistance or supervision.

    Special food related activities are provided including a resident food committee and selection of holiday menus and theme meals by residents.

    Families and visitors are welcome to share a meal with our residents at a nominal charge.
